DeviceAway Instructions
Step 1: Plug the DeviceAway side labeled "Wall" into a USB Type-C wall adapter.
Step 2: Press the Setup button on DeviceAway. The LED light will turn on, indicating that the Wi-Fi portal is active.
Step 3: On your phone, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings and select the DeviceAway_Setup network. This process is the same for both Android and iPhone devices.
Step 4: Once connected, click on the network name again or use the popup to access the setup portal.
Step 5: Click on Configure WiFi to proceed with the setup.
Step 6: Select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
Step 7: If needed, select a different language.
- 7a: Enter a unique name for the charger (e.g., your child's name).
- 7b: Check Use Wireless Charger if applicable.
- 7c: Enter one or two recipient email addresses.
- 7d: Advanced users can use the Special Commands section.
- 7e: Click Save and Exit. The red light should turn off without blinking.
Step 8: Connect your phone to a USB-C cable or place it on a wireless charger. DeviceAway will monitor charging and send notifications.
Error Codes and Troubleshooting
1 Blink – Wi-Fi Not Connected
- Ensure your Wi-Fi is working
- Re-enter your password
- Move closer to the router
5 Blinks – Email Address Rejected
- Verify the email address
- Avoid special characters
- Re-enter the email in setup
6 Blinks – Email Credentials Not Found
- Cycle the power
- Contact support or use Special Commands to enter your own SMTP
